Our roots in Uganda
NextSteps Ministries was born on the water. On Kisma 1 and Kisma 2 Islands in 2024, founders Hassan and Louis encountered a generation of children growing up amid alcohol, violence and a pervasive sense that life has no purpose — where many parents place little value on schooling.
That direct encounter is our founding moment: the conviction that someone had to give these children a different next step.

We are grounded in the conviction that children are precious to God, not a problem to be managed (Matthew 19:14; Psalm 127:3; Proverbs 22:6). Our purpose is to equip the local church, share the Gospel, build self-sufficient communities, and promote strategic community development.

We operate as a company limited by guarantee and are actively pursuing full NGO status. We are committed to strong safeguarding, clear financial accountability, written child-protection policies, and careful stewardship of every contribution.
