It would be faster, in the short term, to run everything ourselves. It would also be fragile. When funding shifts or a season ends, an outside programme leaves — and the children are left again.
The lasting structure
The local church is already there. It was there before us and will be there after us. Our calling is to strengthen it to see, love and care for the vulnerable children in its own community.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them.” — Matthew 19:14
That is why we build through the church: not because it is efficient, but because it is faithful and it endures.
